Nashua, NH Budget Parking Lot Repair

Parking Lots are extremely important in our ability to operate in a modern society. They're the gateway though which all of pass to do business, shopping and seek any number of services are a prime spot for accidents.  Activities in a parking lot of people walking, drivers backing up cars, distracted drivers looking for empty parking slots and shopping carts rolling around without a director are responsible for about 20% of all reported vehicle accidents. Keeping Parking Lots free of potholes and cleaned out of trash will help lower accident probabilities.  Plus, Residential rental property such as apartment complexes parking lots that are well maintained will look attractive to new renters.  Potential clients will have evidence that the complex property maintenance will be responsive to renters- a very important consideration.

Parking Lot faults require inspection before price quoting a specific type of fix. Several types of pavement damage are alligator cracking, potholes, depressions, slippage cracking, reflective cracking, rutting, block cracking, edge cracks and upheaval- these isn’t the complete list.  All have specific causes which requires various repair methods for a long-lived fix.

Some parking lot damage lies only at the surface which can be quickly repaired by a deep cleaning followed by a hot asphalt patch. Other parking lot damage starts under its surface within the gravel subbase and is reflecting up through the layers.  Faults starting at the subbase are identified by Alligator cracking, depressions, upheavals and potholes all of these require an in-depth patch.   In-depth repair means the pavement has been removed down to the fault in the subbase then its repaired before applying an asphalt mix patch.  An Inspection is the first step toward an accurate repair estimate.

Nashua, NH Budget Parking Lot Resurfacing

Resurfacing is a method to restore a failing parking lot that has lost pavement flexibility as evidence by pavement’s deep black color fading to grey or when crack repairs are too numerous to be practical. However, potholes need to be repaired down through the gravel subbase so the newly paved surface pavement has a strong support that won’t fail it.  Resurfacing method removes up to 2 inches of the asphalt in the troubled parking lot then a new asphalt surface paved over it. Old pavement is removed using a highway machine equipped with large rotating cutters that grind up the old pavement.  The broken-up pavement is moved on the highway machine’s internal conveyor belt to a waiting dump truck that brings it to the asphalt recycling center.

Resurfacing is an attractive way to obtain a like new parking lot for much less than a complete parking lot rebuild- especially for those clients on a tight budget.  Caution! Resurfacing works well with a still strong subbase but if potholes are not repaired down through the gravel subbase areas that now puddle will puddle again shortly.  New Hampshire Paving Pros in Nashua believes the amount of time and effort spent in preparation for a Resurfacing will be the basis for how well the finished surface will appear and the length of functionality.

Nashua Budget Parking Lot Sealcoating

Parking Lot Sealcoating adds a protective coating to the pavement’s surface that acts to repel chemical spills common to vehicles such as oil, gas and other fluid spills.  Reduces the time for pavement oxidation by UV-rays down to a crawl.  Repels water penetration allowing it to slid off and most debris will lay upon the surface making it easier to rinse off.  New Hampshire Paving Pros suggest sealcoating the pavement every 2 to 3 year but this will also depend on how rough the climate has been and the amount of traffic born by the lot.

Affordable Expert Parking Lot Installs in Nashua

Commercial asphalt contractor can advise clients to ensure their new parking lot maximizes the number of parking spaces, provides safe uninterrupted movement of the motoring public to parking slot and provide for safe passage of pedestrian traffic to and from the destination building.  Working with expert commercial pavers, will help clients avoid building those parking lots that we hate because:
  • Lanes that end without a way to turn around causing drivers to back up the lanes distance to turn around.
  • Confusing signs on occasion causes traffic errors.
  • Absent security cameras raise the specter of robbery attempts.
  • Problems with insufficient lighting increases the risk of slips and falls because pavement changes (curbs) were masked by darkness.
Parking Lots are designed to compliment the needs of its users, Whether a gated community, business office complex, residential facility, medical complex or a sports complex lot, each Parking lot has specific user needs. For example, a hospital will require a larger number of handicap spaces, schools need strict no passing signage and banks need drive through lanes. New Hampshire Paving Pros understand and maintain NH code regulatory protocol for all types of parking lots. Consultation with experienced commercial paving contractors may prevent improper decision that will have negative impacts to the future drive ability of the Parking Lot.

Nashua Homeowners Asphalt Driveway Crack Repair

Asphalt pavement damage such as Cracks, potholes and upheavals encountered in your driveway has a solution that has been quality tested again and again through our previous years of service to Nashua, NH- no worries, our repairs last.

Cracks in your driveway if left untreated will allow water to seep in causing the cracks to widen, fill with fallen debris and become a prime area for weeds. As time passes, water will flow into the gravel subbase, collapsing it and causing a pothole to form in the above pavement. Cracks can also indicate that your driveway's subbase is weakening but to know for sure the driveway needs to be inspected. Minor cracking less than ½ inch can be patched quickly with hot or cold crack filler. Severe cracks need to be cleaned of all debris then filled with hot asphalt patch mix from the bottom up to reduce bubbles and small voids.

Nashua, NH Budget Asphalt Driveway Pothole Repair

Potholes are ever deepening because as vehicles wheels roll over it, broken asphalt tumbles out.  Often a cars alignment can also get wrecked costing adding to the repair costs. It can’t be just filled up with asphalt because the subbase needs to be repaired by a deep patch otherwise the pothole will quickly reform as the problem hasn’t been fixed. A long-lasting repair requires:
  • The Pothole debris must be cleaned out down to a solid subbase.
  • The surrounding pothole edges are squared off and smoothed.
  • The gravel subbase of the now cleared hole is repaired with new gravel and compacted to about 2 inches from the surface.
  • Adhesive or a Tact Coat is applied to the pothole including up the sides to ensure a strong bonding between the old pavement and the new asphalt patch.
  • Lastly, a premium hot asphalt patching mix (stone powder mixed with binder) should be tamped into the hole

Nashua, NH Asphalt Driveway Budget Sealcoating

New Hampshire Paving Pros offers family budget friendly commercial sealcoating to defend and waterproof your asphalt driveway from the oxidizing effects of sun rays beating down, vehicle spills and stormy weather.  Overtime, these common oxidizers slowly destroy and leach out the black binder or glue that holds together the asphalt pavement together which can be seen as the pavement fades to grey.

We have many formulations of sealcoating available to protect your driveway and will gladly advise the best in your specific situation (all day sunlight, near large body of water…).  Sealcoating will fill slight surface cracks, small pockmarks and waterproof porous areas of the old asphalt pavement.  This results in a like new handsome deep black surface where water and dirt easily wash off. Most asphalt industry specialists suggest sealcoating be repeated every 3 to 4 years depending on climate and active use.

Best Cost Residential Driveway Resurfacing

Driveway Resurfacing is a way to repair old pavement in poor shape to a like new condition through shaving off the first few inches of old pavement and repaving new asphalt overtop. Resurfacing is less expensive than fully restoring a driveway and takes less time making it an attractive option to families on a tight budget. However the areas that have deep puddles will puddle again unless the gravel subbase is repaired- this is called reflective cracking when a damaged subbase reflects backup through the pavement to the surface.

When to Resurfacing an Asphalt Driveway?
  • Driveway has faded to more Grey than black.
  • Numerous cracks that appear to be on the surface rather than deep fissures.
  • The beginnings of a few potholes.
  • Weeds growing in surface cracks.
  • Tire tracks or ruts from heavy campers and trucks.
  • Water puddling on the surface.
Life expectancy for a Driveway Resurfacing is 8 to 10 years.

Affordable Residential Driveway Installation

An expertly built Asphalt Driveway can last 30 years or more depending on climate and prompt maintenance such as sealing cracks when they appear.  The most important decision you’ll make to install a new driveway is finding a good Asphalt Paving Contractor. Learning what to expect in the installation of a properly built driveway may help guide you to a successful search for the best Asphalt Driveway Contractor.  Asphalt Industry standards for a long-lasting Residential Driveway install are:

  • Excavation of the area intended for the new driveway needs to pull out all vegetation and lay down an inhibitor to keep weeds or grasses from breaking through the finished blacktop.
  • Driveway Grading should build a design that flows water away from the home, garage and driveway to spread out over the ground on either side of the driveway.
  • A rolled and compacted gravel subbase is the strength of the driveway and should be about 4 inches deep.
  • The last course of compacted asphalt should be 2 to 4 inches deep.
  • A quality Hot Asphalt Mix, in general, for driveways should be formulated with more asphalt binder which will produce less air voids then highway mixes.
  • Caution! homeowners should keep in mind during home construction efforts or extensive landscaping projects that concrete ready-mix trucks, tree trimming trucks or construction delivery trucks are too heavy for their residential driveway.  Cars and light-duty trucks are the designed weighted traffic for a residential driveway.

Nashua Minute Men and their place in History

Bunker Hill
On June 16 in 1775 the battle of Bunker Hill took place between the English and New Hampshire minute men or at least half of them were from New Hampshire. The British wanted to control the city of Boston and control its strategic seaport.  The last man standing at one advance up the hill was Colonel Ebenezer Bancroft who killed the English Major John Pitcarin that led the march on Lexington and Concord.  Colonel Bancroft was buried on the Bancroft family homestead which is Pheasant Lane Mall today. 3 times the Redcoats went up the hill to engage the Americans and finally put them in retreat.

The Redcoats won the Battle of Bunker Hill but paid a very dear price with 200 killed and 800 wounded whereas the Americans suffered the loss of 100 and a little more than 300 wounded.  This battle ended up encouraging the Americans belief that with staunch determination they could win the War even though they were inexperienced fighters as compared to the British Military.  Another American Colonel William Prescott was reported to have said to his men “Don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes!” to conserve the Americans’ supply of ammunition.
